ABOUT US

The Beginning
EW Motion Therapy was founded by Mike Eskridge and Ethan White, two physical therapists who recognized that care begins with understanding the individual.
From that belief came a simple commitment: empathy, expertise, and a plan built around you, so you can move better, feel better, and live stronger.
Their work became our mission: to teach, empower, and transform our clients by becoming the trusted voice for their health and wellness needs. Our mission is fueled by a deeper purpose: every individual deserves a professional who cares as deeply about their health and well-being as they do.
From Olympians to grandparents, it has always been about understanding each person's journey deeply enough to change not just their outcome, but how they move, perform, and live for years to come.
Where We Are Today
What started in two small rooms has grown into six clinic locations across Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, serving clients at every stage of life. Along the way, the work has always been the same: find people who understand why our mission and purpose matter, develop them into clinicians and instructors who deliver it well, and build a practice where individualized care is not a differentiator but a standard.
That care takes shape through three core offerings: Physical Therapy, Clinical Pilates, and Personal Training, each designed around the person in front of the practitioner.

Where We Are Going
EW has always been building toward something larger, a responsibility to extend the impact of what we know works. Through our EW University, we are developing the next generation of clinicians, instructors, and movement professionals. New partnerships are opening doors to communities we have yet to serve, and digital platforms represent the next step in extending our care, education, and guidance beyond our walls to those who cannot step inside our clinics.
What we’ve built isn’t meant to remain in one place. The standard does not change, but access will.
